Information for Sellers
When a buyer asks Clearline Automotive to carry out an independent inspection, our aim is to make the process simple, respectful and completely transparent.
What we do
We carry out a visual, non-intrusive inspection of the vehicle, which may include:
· Exterior and bodywork checks
· Interior condition
· Mechanical observations
· Diagnostic scan (if available)
· Short (up to 10 mile) road test (only with your permission)
What we need from you
· Access to the vehicle at the agreed time
· A safe space with enough room to walk around the car
· Permission to start the engine
· Permission for a short road test (optional)
You are welcome to be present throughout.
What we don’t do
· We do not judge or criticise the vehicle
· We do not negotiate on behalf of the buyer
· We do not share your personal details
· We do not publish identifiable images without permission
· We do not dismantle anything, remove covers or interfere with the vehicle in any way
Our role is simply to document the vehicle’s condition at the time of the inspection.
How long it takes
Most inspections take 60-90 minutes, depending on access and conditions.
Why sellers appreciate our approach
· We are polite, professional and respectful
· We keep disruption to a minimum
· We explain exactly what we’re doing
· We do not dismantle or interfere with the vehicle
· We help buyers feel confident, which often speeds up the sale
If you have any questions, we’re happy to answer anything before or during the inspection.
